Both courses opened for play in 1958. The courses were designed by Dick Wilson and Joe Lee.
The course was built as an amenity for guests of the pinks stucco Harder Hall Hotel. The hotel was closed in the 1970's and today remains an large abandoned "pink elephant." The Harder Eighteen Hole Golf Course remains in play, The Harder Nine Hole Golf Course met the same fate as the hotel, it to has closed. It closed in 2015.
